YESTERDAY, SUNDAY WAS ‘DIA DI BANDABOU’ – ‘BANDABOU DAY’.  THIS LOW LAND  COUNTRY SIDE  HAS THE BEST OUTSTANDING CULTURAL HERITAGE  FROM THE ENTIRE ISLAND OF CURACAO. THE COUPLING OF OUR CULTURAL WEEKS EVENTS THESE DAYS WENT CELEBRATING WITH ‘BANDABOU’ EVENTS.

TO MENTION IS THE   AUTHENTIC MUSIC-GROUPS, COOKING AND SPECTACULAR  CULTURAL SHOWS OF ARTS , CRAFTS AND GREEN MARKETS. BING THERE, SAVORING MY ‘KABRITU-‘(GOAT) SOUP ,  I REMEMBERED BANDABOW’S OTHER  SKILLS OT OFFERS.  IT HAS THE BEST MECHANICS, THE BEST WELDERS, PLUMBERS . MAKERS OF SWEETS LIKE COCONUT CANDIES, COCONUT OILS, HEALING AILMENTS FROM THE CALABAS, GARDEN PLANTS, BEST OUTSIDE ANTIQUE BAKE-OVEN, FISHERMAN EN BOAT-BUILDERS PLUS AGRICULTURE. MENTIONED BEFORE IN FIRST BLOG PAGE WERE STORY TELLERS, PLANTERS (BIG BANANAS, SOUR SAP,MANGOES(OVER ENTIRE ISLAND) PLENTY OF PEANUTS.

HORSE RIDING, KAYAK, BICYCLING, MOUNTING, JOGGING AND JUST WALKING IS A DELIGHT.LOOKING AT THE HILLS-MOUNTAINS AND TROPICAL BIRDS AND FLAMINGOS SETTLING ON THE SITE OF ‘JANKOK’. THE  ALL KINDS A RESORTS ARE PROGRESSING. WITH THE EVENTS GARDEN DOORS ARE OPEN FOR A COME TOGETHER.  FEW OF OUR ARTISTS HAVE THEIR STUDIO HOUSES OPEN TO VIEW  PAINTINGS, STROLL IN OUR GARDENS AND SIT IN THE SHADE, HAVE A HOME MADE LEMON JUICE WITH A LOT OF ICE BECAUSE IT CAN BE HOT OUTSIDE. BUT RAIN ON DIA DI BANDABOU IS POSSIBLE. IT’S RAINING TIME. ALSO TIME FOR HARVESTING THE LITTLE CORN UNTIL DECEMBER OR JANUARY THAN  TIME TO REAP.  FOLLOWING MARCH OR APRIL PARADE STARTS, STROLLING DOWN, MARCHING THE TINY STREETS, SINGING ‘HAY MAILO’ THE ‘LITTLE CORN’ SONG.
